Video: Japanese Researchers Create Interactive Kissable Poster
Posted on April 3, 2012
Japanese researchers at Keio University have created a creepy kissable, interactive poster. The poster was on display at XD Exhibitions 2012.
The poster, which is really a digital screen, contains an ultrasound sensor that senses the difference between the person and the screen. When a person gets close enough to the screen the video changes to that of a woman appearing to kiss back. The researchers say they want to get pop stars to pose for the interactive posters and sell them as apps for the iPad or use the technology to develop interactive digital signs.
The researchers say they could also blast the person with a fragrance when they get closer to the digital screen. Diginfo TV cites interactive poster developer Keidai Ogawa as saying, "The current system only produces visual changes, but we could also include the scent of shampoo from the person's hair, or a lemon-flavored film on the lips, or a speaker that whispers 'I love you.'"
