Video: Sakurajima Volcano Erupts in Japan, Showers Kagoshima City With Ash

The Sakurajima Volcano is an active volcano in Japan that erupts on a daily basis. The volcano had a much more powerful eruption than usual on July 24th. Volcano Discovery says this eruption occurred at the less frequently active Minami-dake crater. The Japan Daily Press reports that the eruption sent 18-inch rocks over a mile away. Kagoshima City was showered with ash from the explosion. The residents of the city are used to eruptions and quickly swept the ash away after the dust cleared.
