Video: Male Seahorse Gives Birth at The Deep Aquarium

A male seahorse gives birth to a ton of seahorses in this video from The Deep, an aquarium located in Hull, East Yorkshire. Male seahorses carry eggs in their brood pouch (located on the front of the tail) until they emerge as tiny, fully developed seahorses. The eggs are deposited into the brood pouch by the female, using her ovipositor. In the video, the seahorse changes color, starts to undergo muscular contortions and then begins to release hundreds of tiny seahorses into the water. Take a look:
