UK Records Third Case of Wuhan Novel Coronavirus

A third case of the Wuhan novel coronavirus (2019-nCov) has been confirmed in the UK. Detail about where in the UK the patient resides or has traveled were not revealed. It was revealed the patient contracted the virus outside the UK.

England's chief medical officer Chris Whitty told BBC News, "We are using robust infection control measures to prevent any possible further spread of the virus."

The infected individual has been taken to a specialist NHS treatment center. BBC News says the other two UK cases are being treated at the Royal Victoria Infirmary infectious diseases center.

Cases of the coronavirus have been surging the past week. There have been over 28,000 confirmed cases with 565 deaths.
