Tokyo Bakery Tests Visual Computer System That Identifies Multiple Pastries in One Second

A visual computer recognition system developed by Brain Corporation is being tested at a Tokyo bakery shop. The system can identify all the baked goods on a tray in just one second. Even baked goods with different types of icing can be recognized and identified by the system, enabling for quick checkouts. The pastries do need to be pointed at the camera the correct way. The shop owner says new staff can work at the registry on day one because they don't need to know the prices of all the different types of baked goods sold in the shop. There are plans to modify the system for use in grocery stores and pharmacies. Take a look:
