Thousands of Pink Cockatoos Invade Small Queensland Town, Cause Power Outages

Thousands of pink cockatoos have invaded the small Queensland town of Boulia. The birds have reportedly stripped trees and weighed down power lines. The Rose-Breasted Cockatoos are also known as Galahs.
There are estimated to be about 4,000 of the pretty birds in the town. Experts believe they are seeking relief from a drought. The birds have been weighing down power lines and causing power outages. The birds are also very noisy and make it difficult for residents to sleep.
7 News quotes a young resident who says, "They are so noisy and they poo everywhere and they make the town dirty. They are so noisy and they wake us up in the morning when we're trying to sleep."
The cockatoos are not expected to leave the town until the drought ends. Take a look:
