Posted on October 10, 2011

A third worker at the Fukushima nuclear power plant in Japan has died. The Guardian reports that Tepco is claiming the man's death was not caused by radiation. However, Tepco has not given any explanation for the man's death. The man was in his 50s and had worked at the plant for 46 days. The Guardian also says Tepco is employing thousands of poorly paid inexperienced contract workers to repair the plant and clear it of debris. These people have been dubbed "nuclear gypsies."
