Thailand Authorities Rescue Nearly 100 Endangered Pangolins

Thailand authorities rescued about 100 endangered pangolins that were about to sold and eaten. The Guardian reports that the pangolins, a type of scaly anteater, were found on a truck. Below is a raw video of the rescued pangolins looking very uncomfortable in cages and blue bags. Pangolins are very valuable on the black market. Some people in Vietnam and China think eating pangolins can boost sexual prowess. The scales of the animal are also thought to be an herbal remedy. Time reported in 2005 that demand for pangolin in China as food and for use in herbal medicine has nearly wiped out the species. Take a look:
