Stun Gun Drone Demonstrated at SXSW 2014

Here is a demonstration of a drone delivering an electric charge to incapacitate a person. The system was developed by Chaotic Moon Studios. Popular Science recorded the footage at Chaotic Moon Studios during South by Southwest. The drone is named CUPID, which is an acronym for Chaotic Unmanned Personal Intercept Drone.

The security drone can monitor an area for suspicious activity. The drone records video of any person it finds suspicious and then checks first with a human via an app before blasting the suspicious intruder with 80,000 volts of electricity. An intern named Jackson gets tased in the demonstration by a dart shot by the drone. The Daily Mail says the company is also working on a security drone that releases pepper spray. Take a look:
