Some scientists believe naked mole rats hold the secrets to solving many human health problems, including cancer and aging. Naked mole rats live nearly 30 years - ten times as long as most other rats - and they do not get cancer. They live in communities that are similar to insect societies. Rochelle Buffenstein takes care of the largest naked mole rat colony in the United States. She oversees 1,600 naked mole rats living in tanks at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio.
