One Killed When Rogue Wave Hits British Cruise Ship

An elderly man was killed when a rogue wave hit the British cruise ship Marco Polo. The wave hit the ship when it was passing through the English Channel. The wave is connected to powerful storms that have been lashing England over the past few weeks. Take a look:

CNN's Tom Foreman has an interesting report on these rogue waves or "monster waves." Foreman says a research project, called the Maxwave Project, has found these waves can reach up to 80 feet high. The study also fund the waves are more frequent than previously thought. The waves can also form in calm conditions. Take a look:
