Robugtix Builds Spider Robot That Uses 26 Motors

Robugtix built a 3D spider robot, called T8. The wirelessly controlled bio-inspired octopod robot was made with 3D printed parts and a total of 26 motors. Each legs has 3 motors. There are also two motors in the spiderbot's abdomen. The robot is powered by the Bigfoot Inverse Kinematics Engine, which Robugtix says, "performs all of the necessary calculations for smoothly controlling the motions of the robot in real time."

The robot weighs 1 kilogram, about 2.2 pounds. The robot is being sold a pre-order price of $1,350. It goes on sale for $1,500 in September. Take a look:
