Orb Weaver Spider Kills Bat in Belize

Orb weavers typically feed on insects, but if they are large enough they can capture birds and small mammals in their large webs.

In this clip an orb weaver in Belize captures a small bat. The poor bat hit the spider web dead on. The web remained mostly intact after the impact and the spider was able to overcome the bat with its venom and rapid web spinning. Take a look:
