OC Robotics Builds Mobile Snake-Arm Robot

OC Robotics has unveiled its new mobile snake-arm robot. The snake-arm has been integrated with a mobile vehicle. The flexible snake-arm is 1.5 meters long.

The snake-arm can is powered from the mobile vehicle and can be controlled over Wi-Fi. The snake can also have a variety of different tools mounted at the tip, such as a laser or camera. OC Robotics says the snake-arm could be used to explore cluttered or hard to access spaces.

The video from OC shows the robot searching in trash cans, exploring a car and going inside a pipe. Take a look:

OC Robotics has been making snake-like robots for years. They have one version of their snake robot, LaserSnake, that is equipped with a 5kW laser for cutting metal and concrete. This laser could also be used at the tip of the Mobile Snake-Arm Robot. Take a look:
