Japanese Scientists Create Mannequin Input Device

Researchers from SoftEther Corporation and the University of Tsukuba have developed the Qumarion, a mannequin input device. The goal behind the unique input device is to "simplify the manipulation and posing of human-like 3D CG models on screen."
The mannequin has 32 sensors on 16 different joints. Data from the sensors is transferred from the mannequin to a computer through a USB drive. The 3D model on the computer instantly mimics the movements made with the mannequin. Celsys, a provider of illustration and anime software, plans to develop software for the input device and sell it, packaged with the mannequin, for about $750. Take a look:
