Man Builds Robot Resembling Actress Scarlett Johansson

Posted on April 3, 2016

A man has built a life-sized robot resembling actress Scarlett Johansson. Ricky Ma, a graphic designer in Hong Kong, built the robot by scratch at his home. He named the robot Mark 1.

Reuters reports that Ma spent $50,000 building Mark 1. He admits the robot was inspired by a Hollywood star but he won't reveal the star's name even though it is obvious who the robot is meant to resemble. The robot responds to commands like "Mark 1 turn right" and "Mark 1 you are so cute."

Ma used 3D printing technology to create most of the skeleton for the robot. It has a silicone skin. Ma told Reuters, "I figured I should just do it when the timing is right and realise my dream. If I realise my dream, I will have no regrets in life."

A story in The Sun says Ma has spent a year and a half so far building the robotic Scarlett. Take a look:
