Mahoro Robot Does Dangerous Lab Work

Posted on July 7, 2012

Mahoro is a robot designed to operate in dangerous labs. Mahoro can work with hazardous materials and deadly viruses while conducting clinical trials. The robot was co-developed by AIST and Yaskawa. Mahoro can be retrained for new trials, which eliminates the need to build costly custom robots for specific research trials. Mahoro's arm has seven joints, which gives it more movement to conduct lab work. DigInfo News says Mahoro is already being used at labs at some pharmaceutical companies and universities.
