Korea's First Humanoid Robot Was Inspired by the Centaur from Greek Mythology

Korea's Institute of Science and Technology developed this robot, called Centaur, in the late 1990s. It is thought to be Korea's first humanoid robot. The robot was pretty advanced for its time period. It could move on its four legs and it could lift weights with its arms (while making odd mouth movements). Plastic Pals says Centaur also had sensitive fingertips which could hold an egg without breaking it. The video comes in to better focus around the 27 second mark. Take a look:
