Japanese Researchers Create Sense-Roid, a Huggable Robot Torso

Posted on June 23, 2011

Japanese researchers have created the Sense-Roid, a headless robotic mannequin that hugs you back when you give it a hug. The user and the Sense-Roid each wear special jackets that inflate and vibrate. The Sense-Roid attempts to replicate the pressure of the exact hug you give it, so hugging the Sense-Roid is sort of like hugging yourself. Here are some videos of the odd Sense-Roid in action.
