Avatar and Titanic director James Cameron plans to explore the deepest part of the ocean. CNN reports that Cameron has a high-tech sub, built in Australia, that he will use to explore the bottom of Mariana Trench. The goal is to reach Challenger Deep, the deepest known point in the world's oceans, located in the Mariana Trench. There have been three previous descents to Challenger Deep, see here.

CNN says Cameron has been conducting test dives in his one-man submersible for the past several weeks. Take a look:

Richard Branson is also planning to explore the world's deepest oceans with his Virgin Oceanic Sub.
