James Cameron Reaches Ocean's Deepest Point in His One Man Sub

James Cameron has tweeted that he has reached the ocean's deepest point. Cameron says, "Just arrived at the ocean's deepest pt. Hitting bottom never felt so good. Can't wait to share what I'm seeing w/ you @DeepChallenge."
Cameron is the first person in history to solo dive to the deepest place on Earth. Cameron started his descent into Challenger Deep, the deepest known point in the world's oceans, located in the Mariana Trench, about two hours ago. Cameron's high-tech sub will allow him to remain at the bottom and explore for hours before returning to the surface.
National Geographic has details about Cameron's sub here. One of Cameron's goals with the deep dive is to "bring back compelling imagery in 3-D of never before seen geological processes and species."
