Underwater Scooters Called HydroBOBs Look Like Great Fun

The Hydrodome in Ft. Lauderdale has two items of interest: an underwater scooter and a robotic shark. Roboshark is a robotic shark that swims in the pool and looks cool.

The HydroBOB is even more interesting. BOB stands for Breathing Observation Bubble. It is a device that combines elements of scuba diving and jet skiing. Riders sit on the device like you would a jet ski or a scooter. The rider's head goes into the HydroBOB's bubble helmet. The device contains an oxygen tank that enables riders to breathe underwater. Riders move by twisting the HydroBob's throttle, which actives the motor.

Here are videos of the roboshark and the HydroBOB in action. HydroBOBs are only available at the Hydrodome, where they can be rented for $25 an hour. They look like a lot of fun. Take a look:
