How to Help Snapping Turtles Trying to Cross the Road

Here are a couple videos about how to grab a snapping turtle without losing a finger. In the first video, from a documentary by Todd Bieber, a snapping turtle whisperer named Rolf demonstrates how to save a snapping turtle. He walks right into a pond and grabs a huge snapping turtle out of the water. Rolf says he has never been bitten. The second video, from the Toronto Zoo, shares several methods for helping a snapping turtle cross the road. They are good tips but be careful to avoid getting your fingers with in striking distance of the turtle. Take a look:
