Rare Four-Eyed Turtle Hatched at Tennessee Aquarium

A rare four-eyed turtle (Sacalia quadriocellata) recently hatched at the Tennessee Aquarium. The four-eyed turtle gets its name from two false eye markings (ocelli) on the back of its head. The turtles are found in streams in evergreen forests in China, Laos and Vietnam. They are endangered in the wild. The U.S. zoo population of the four-eyed turtles consists of 29 turtles, with 28 of them living at the Tennessee Aquarium. Take a look:
