Flying Robot Prototype Uses Its Wings to Walk on the Ground

Engineers at the Laboratory of Intelligent Systems have developed a flying robot that uses its wings to walk on the ground. The walking flying robot is the first prototype of the DALER (Deployable Air Land Exploration Robot) project. The developers call the approach they used Adaptive Morphology, where parts of the structure of a robot are shared between the different modes of locomotion. Take a look:
