Dexterous Robot Chef Makes Japanese Fast Food and Egg Sandwich

Posted on December 10, 2008

Yaskawa Electric demonstrated their Motoman SDA10 robot at the International Next Generation Robot Fair in Osaka. Motoman can make you an okonomiyaki in no time at all. Dvice says an okonomiyaki "sort of resembles a pancake filled with ingredients like meat, vegetables, and shrimp."

The robot chef uses speech recognition technology to take verbal orders from customers. Yaskawa Electric plans to sell 3,000 Motomans a year by 2010.

Sadly, there is no video of Motomon in action making an okonomiyaki. However, there is a video of a Motomon robot cooking an egg sandwich.
