Total Coronavirus Cases Soar Over 25,000, Death Toll Passes 550

The total number of coronavirus cases worldwide has passed the 25,000 mark. Most of the cases are still in China with the epicenter of the Hubei province still being the location of most cases. However, cases are also growing outside of Hubei in China and elsewhere around the globe.

Hubei reported 2,987 new cases and 70 new deaths today bringing the total number of cases to over 27,600 and the total number of deaths to over 560. BNO News announced the new cases in a tweet.

China is still expected to announce additional cases outside of Hubei later today. There are also at least 23,000 suspected cases in China.

The number of cases outside China has remained low with only a handful of countries reporting over 20 cases. However, there have been a growing number of cases involving local transmission and there virus has a rather long incubation period of up to 14 days.
