Company Developing LettuceBot to Replace Human Workers

A company is developing a LettuceBot that can thing rows of lettuce in a field. The AP reports that the bot can thin a field more quickly than twenty human workers. The robot is being developed by Blue River Technology. The story says LettuceBots could help in the region where there is apparently a labor shortage. Blue River CEO says Jorge Heraud says the robot are good at doing repetitive tasks quickly and accurately. Future robots will be able to perform more complex tasks. The company plans to develop robots for weeding and harvesting crops in the future. Take a look:
