Brazil Confirms First Case of Coronavirus

Brazil has confirmed its first case of the coronavirus (Covid-19). It is also the first confirmed case in Latin America. The case is a patient returning from Lombardy, Italy. There is a growing coronavirus outbreak in Italy with over 370 cases and 12 deaths.

A Reuters report notes that the case comes during Brazil's busy carnival holiday. The patient is a 61-year-old at a Sao Paulo hospital.
