Liliger Cub Born in Siberian Zoo

This adorable cub is thought to be the first liliger born in the world. The cat is the hybrid of a lion and a liger. It was born at Novosibirsk, a Russian zoo in Siberia. The Moscow Times reports that the cub, named Kiara, is the offspring of a female liger named Zita and a male African lion named Samson. ITN quotes the head of the zoo as saying she expects the liliger cub to develop into a "calm, confident, strong animal." Take a look:
